16th Annual Tournament for Life, United States For the sixteenth year in a row, WorleyParsons’ Reading, Pennsylvania (PA) office hosted its Tournament for Life (T4L). The golf tournament, held at the Hersey Country Club on August 22nd, brought together customers, vendors and contractors to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. This year the event raised $160,000, bringing the 16-year donation total to nearly $1.9 million.  Humanitarian Engineering Conference 2012, Australia WorleyParsons' Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Interest Group in Melbourne assembled a team of graduates, and together with EWB and Engineers Australia, delivered a day-long engineering workshop for 48 Year 9 students from eight high schools in Melbourne. Work Safety Centers, Australia WorleyParsons has contributed AUD$100,000 towards facilitating the construction of the Work Safely Centre (WSC) with the collaboration of Tier 1 customers such as Rio Tinto, Santos, Woodside and Boyne Smelters. WSC was set up in Perth, Gladstone, Adelaide and Auckland. UN Global Compact Commitment During the past financial year, WorleyParsons has reached a number of Corporate Responsibility milestones, including becoming a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Anti- child abuse publication, Trinidad WorleyParsons Trinidad contributed TTD$50,000 (AUD$7,568) towards an educational illustrative book that the Heroes Foundation published. |
