Jason Hope, Pipeline Engineer
“I graduated as a Civil Engineer in 2005 and since then I have been working at WorleyParsons as a pipeline engineer. I have worked on several exciting projects each with their own unique challenges. I have worked with some of the best in the business and they were more than willing to share their knowledge and experience with me. This mentoring aspect has been invaluable to me and is in my opinion an important cultural differentiator that you will find here. My work experiences had ranged from civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, geomatics, purchasing, scheduling, cost estimating, proposal writing, report writing, and pipeline construction.
One of things I am most proud of is the Graduate Development Program in the Calgary of which I am President. I lead an executive of 10 who all have a role in helping integrate new graduates in to the company. There are currently over 160 graduates at this location, each with different skill sets and needs. Over the past 6 months our Graduate Development Organization has organized 4 major social events, 6 training sessions, 3 volunteering activities, and we are flying 18 graduates to a site visit in Fort McMurray to gain hands on experience on a major oil sands project. I have greatly enjoyed this opportunity to developed leadership skills that have greatly assisted my career and personal development. I have recently moved to a new role as a Pipeline Project Engineer and I am looking forward to this new challenge.”
