Arturo Rios, Project Engineer
“I joined WorleyParsons in 1995 as a field engineer. Throughout my career at WorleyParsons, I’ve had support from management to advance my career according to my capabilities. I've been assigned different roles in my tenure that has given me the opportunity to broaden my experience and advance my career. Management put me in many positions to advance. The company has given me the opportunity to use the skills and knowledge I have gained in each of these positions to further my career. Since my first assignment as a field engineer, I have progressed through the construction department as construction engineer and chief construction engineer. I am now in the Project Management group working as a project engineer using the valuable experience I gained in construction in project design development.
Since my employment, I was able advanced positions from field engineer to a construction engineer to a chief construction engineer and presently a project engineer and on a project management career path. WorleyParsons has given me the opportunity to gain valuable experience during the advancement of my career with challenging responsibilities. WorleyParsons facilitates the opportunity for growth.
Being a project engineer allows me to both manage a portion of a project and apply my technical skills and knowledge. It also allows me to interface with most the discipline engineers as well as project management. This interface allows me to make the best decisions for our project.
Our company has also given me career opportunities to work in other parts of the US as well as overseas. One opportunity that I took advantage of was to work in Martinez, CA for a year. This experience was not only enjoyable but proved useful and beneficial to my career.
Most importantly, WorleyParsons has leadership and vision for both the direction of the company and the growth of each of its employees. We are our company’s most valuable asset and are treated as such.”
