"I joined the WorleyParsons Oman (Middle East) office as a Senior Project Engineer in 1999. I was a 34 year old South African and looking for a new challenge in a new country. Two years after joining, I was promoted to the location manager of the office and facilitated growth from 120 staff in 2001 to over 320 in 2007. Additionally, in 2005 I was appointed the Project/ Contract Manager for the Petroleum Development Oman US$400 million Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Maintenance contract. In 2007, I was promoted to Regional Director for the Middle East and was responsible for 5 countries and 900 people.
My career path to date proves that WorleyParsons are not afraid to promote people into senior positions at a young age and the opportunities are available for those willing to take them. I have been fortunate to visit USA, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Iran, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait as part of my roles which has broadened my knowledge base.
