ARA WorleyParsons has extensive Minerals & Metals and Infrastructure expertise in Chile and other South American countries. Long-term service agreements with customers such as CODELCO (the state-owned copper company in Chile) provide an important base of work for these local offices. Comprised of around 550 personnel, the head office of ARA WorleyParsons is located in Santiago, Chile.
Through INTECSEA, WorleyParsons has had a long history of supporting our customers from the Rio De Janeiro office. Through its specialization in subsea pipelines and system design from concept-to-details, INTECSEA leverages strategic relationships with several major local and international oil companies, including Petrobras.
The recent acquisition of CNEC Engenharia (CNEC) has reinforced WorleyParsons’ presence in the dynamic Brazilian economy. CNEC is an established engineering provider with a 50 year history servicing the downstream hydrocarbons, minerals and metals, hydroelectric, infrastructure (transport, water/wastewater) and environmental industries of Brazil. The addition of approximately 700 personnel will continue to build on the impressive source of world-class capabilities and local knowledge being developed throughout the region.
New operations have also recently been established in Colombia, supporting Ecopetrol and BHP Billiton, and in Peru, supporting a copper project for Southern Peru Copper.
Our Latin American operations have also contributed to major and mega-project wins for execution hubs outside the region, with support provided by our local offices. Such projects include contracts for the Petrobras COMPERJ project in Brazil and Pequiven/Braskem Jose Olefins project in Venezuela. WorleyParsons’ focus on Latin America and the Caribbean continues to strengthen its global initiatives and increase exciting opportunities for the company.
