Chaffey Dam Augmentation and Safety Upgrade Project

WorleyParsons Services Pty Ltd has been commissioned by State Water Corporation to undertake the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Chaffey Dam Augmentation and Safety Upgrade project. The proponent for the project is State Water Corporation.

The project comprises the augmentation and safety upgrade of the existing Chaffey Dam and will result in an increase to the Full Supply Level (FSL) of 6.5m and an increase in the permanent storage capacity of the dam from 62GL to 100GL.

Construction works to achieve the required outcomes will include raising the dam wall by 8.4m, raising the morning glory by 6.5m and reconfiguration of the auxiliary spillway. Road and bridge realignment will also be required due to the increased FSL of the dam. The upgrade will comply with modern day dam safety standards.
