Worley Melbourne has received a Letter of Intent from CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) to commence the Basic Engineering of the Nanbao 35-2 facilities, located in Bohai Bay, consisting of two offshore platforms, one of which is to be installed by the floatover method.
This is a follow on from a Screening Study, lead by 2003 Grill Award winner Brad Morey, undertaken earlier this year by our Houston office.
The work is to commence immediately and run until mid December - a very tight schedule.
Worley sees this as an excellent opportunity for the company to build upon its previous oil and gas experience in China and potentially lead to the detailed design of these facilties.
