Worley Trinidad wins contract for Phoenix Park Valve Station Upgrade

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) has awarded Worley Trinidad Limited the engineering consultancy services for the design and technical management of Phoenix Park Valve Station Upgrade.

Phoenix Park Valve Station is the major NGC facility, receiving natural gas from suppliers and distributing gas to various users including Trinidad’s major refineries, petrochemical plants, power generation facilities and other commercial consumers.

The project involves upgrading of the existing Phoenix Park Valve Station to improve the reliability of slug catching facilities, to eliminate safety risks associated with vent gases and to facilitate the safe and cost effective removal of condensate from the station.

Worley Trinidad Limited is responsible for the design of an additional above ground slug catching system, a new flare and relief system, and the change out of the existing storage tanks to be replaced by pressure vessels and a condensate delivery system to Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL) for stripping.

This upgrade will increase NGC’s gas transmission and distribution capacity from the present 1.4 bcfd to the forecasted 3 bcfd.
