WorleyParsons Qatar has been awarded a US$35M contract for engineering design services for the New Doha Port Project.
The New Doha Port is a US$4bn development that will serve Qatar as a commercial port and provide for the importation of raw materials and goods into the country. The new port, to be operational in 2014, will also provide facilities for the Qatar Navy, Coast Guard and for the Yachts of the Emir.
WorleyParsons scope of services includes dredging and reclamation, commercial port and naval berth facilities, port infrastructure, facility buildings and port equipment. We have strategically partnered with Royal Haskoning, a global leader in port and marine consultancy, for the delivery of the project. Royal Haskoning have a wealth of experience in the planning of container terminals, as well as expertise in dredging, navigation engineering and port security.
There will also be a large element of work share with WorleyParsons Abu Dhabi, who will be assisting with the design of marine structures for the Coast Guard and Emiri Yacht Terminals.
