Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry has awarded a contract to Worley Singapore to work on its Cellulose Derivative Plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.
Worley's Industrial and Infrastructure group are providing multi-disciplined engineering and construction management services for the plant with construction targetted to start in February next year. This will be the largest project undertaken by Worley in Singapore and sees the company take a lead role on a greenfield project on Jurong Island for the first time.
Akzo Nobel operate three main business groups - Pharma, Coatings and Chemicals, with 2001 revenues of US$14billion and 68,000 employees.
