The proposed nuclear technology to be utilized for the project is AES 2006 with the Novovoronezh NPP-2 design (under construction) as a reference plant design.
In mid-July 2011 the Project company signed an agreement with WorleyParsons for provision of consultancy services during the preconstruction phase of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Turkey. Under a very tight schedule WorleyParsons team will be providing a wide range of consultancy services covering licensing/permitting support for project activities in Turkey; development of the Environmental Impact Assessment and organization/support in its approval process; development of the site characterization/hazards evaluation; analysis of the compliance of the regulatory base of the design with Turkish and IAEA requirements for nuclear energy; support in the process of international review of the PSAR, etc. WorleyParsons project team comprises experts from WorleyParsons Nuclear Services based in Sofia and the Moscow headquartered joint venture InterRAO-WorleyParsons. The joint venture will lead the project implementation and will have overall work scope responsibility to deliver the project.
