The provision of these services is based on a performance incentive contract where WorleyParsons and BSL share the risk and benefits of the project delivery performance.
BSL is Australia’s largest aluminium smelter and is operated by RioTinto Aluminium. Production activities at the smelter include manufacturing of carbon anodes, aluminium production in reduction lines, and casting of molten metal into aluminium products.
The scope of services for the ESP covers engineering, procurement and construction services and includes:
- Construction management
- Tie-in and shutdown work
- Commissioning support
- Preoperational testing
- Employee and industrial relations
It is a requirement by BSL that WorleyParsons operates generally in line with the Rio Tinto Alcan Project Management System.
