WorleyParsons completed an environmental assessment of a proposed environmental restoration project to address historical environmental liabilities in the mining sector and facilitate the sustainable privatization of the Zambian copper industry.

The study comprised reviews and assessments of environmental risks and liabilities, environmental audits, impact studies, engineering studies, social assessments, resettlement plans, site rehabilitation, decommissioning plans, environmental management plans, and institutional / capacity building.

An evaluation of project alternatives and recommendations for the improvement of design were included. WorleyParsons was later retained to provide an independent assessment of the environmental management plans for the project.
