WorleyParsons geophysicists have extensive experience in groundwater
exploration. Their proprietary methodologies have enabled them to have a higher strike rate and considerably greater success in locating groundwater.

The Government of Malawi funded a rural water supply program to provide safe drinking water to about 100 villages where traditional water supplies were unreliable.

A geophysical survey was mandated for the siting of 250 boreholes.WorleyParsons prepared and carried out a regional geophysical program aimed at determining drilling locations for water supply wells in developing villages.

Techniques used included borehole logging (conductivity, natural gamma and magnetic susceptibility), EM34 electromagnetic surveys and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) surveys. Subsequent drilling resulted in an 80% success rate, up from 30% in previous years.
