Jackfish is a greenfield Steam Assisted Gravity Drain (SAGD) commercial bitumen recovery project near Conklin, Alberta.

The Jackfish Project nominal design capacity is 5560 cubic metres per day (35,000 bpd) of 8.1° API gravity oil.  The scope of the project included four well pads, flow lines and central processing facilities. The main process systems included:

  • Well pads
  • Steam generation
  • Inlet and oil treating
  • Water treatment
  • Deoiling
  • Bulk storage
  • Utilities

The facility is expected to operate for approximately 25 years. Main process buildings for steam generation and water treatment were stick built. The main piperacks, equipment and piping were modularized and consisted of 58 pipe rack modules and 88 equipment modules for CPF and Pads.

WorleyParsons Colt was responsible for the FEED and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, and module construction management of the facility.  A maximum modularized concept approach was utilized to reduce construction work in the field.
