The project was for the EPC delivery of the new greenfield, Joffre Ethane Extraction Plant (JEEP), located next to the Nova Chemicals Joffre site in Central Alberta.

The straddle plant processes 195 MMSCFD pipeline quality natural gas and extract ethane (C2) and propane plus (C3+) from the natural gas supply serving the Nova Chemicals Joffre site. The ethane recovered from the plant is returned to the Nova Chemicals plant. All the propane plus products are retained and marketed by Taylor Management.

The plant was designed as a high ethane recovery plant employing a gas sub-cooled cryogenic expander process, which separates ethane and ethane plus liquids from the inlet feed gas to the plant. The project included approximately 6 kilometers of pipeline, a dehydration system, inlet cooling, a 6,500 HP turbo expander, a 6,500 HP brake compressor, an 8,500 HP residue gas compressor, de-methanizer, de-ethanizer, product shipping system and utility systems
