The innovative jacket design consisted of a four legged launch tower structure removing the need for heavy lift vessel for installation which delivered cost and schedule savings to the customer. The jacket design also overcame the challenging foundation requirements of a maximum of 25m pile penetration.
The design solution required substantial analysis to optimise the pile configuration to maintain an even distribution of pile head load and resulted in a total of nine piles in an optimised configuration at the base of the substructure. The nominal launch weight was 2192 tonnes and the structure was launched base first.
