Facing future power shortages at its Halul Island and NFA Platform facilities, Qatar Petroleum commissioned a Front End Engineering and Design study of supply from Ras Laffan onshore through 132 kV and 66 kV subsea cables. The project had a tight 8-month schedule with a need to manage extensive interfaces with external agencies due to more than 50 submarine cable crossings; and it included 280 km geophysical and geotechnical offshore surveys, environmental impact, detailed risk assessment, and grid integration studies.

WorleyParsons drew on its extensive global subsea and power networks expertise to support its Doha office in successful completion of this challenging study.
